Refund policy

We implore you to do your research on bumblebee hives before purchasing one. Hives have a limited life-span and cannot be easily returned once opened due to disease concerns. Hives are warranted as capable of pollination. As pollination is greatly affected by environmental factors, pollination itself cannot be guaranteed.

We have a 4 week replacement policy, which means you have 4 weeks after receiving your hive to request a replacement.

To be eligible for a replacement, you must demonstrate that the hive activity or life-span has failed to meet reasonable expectations and that you have handled the hive appropriately, and provided a suitable environment for the hive to live in. You must be able to account for your pesticide use, and be willing to give full and accurate details of your management relating to the hive (including the cropping environment in which the hive resided), so Biobees can make a fair assessment. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To request a replacement, you can contact us at office@biobees.co.nz, or call us on (06) 879 5883. If your replacement request is accepted, we’ll send you a replacement hive at the first reasonable opportunity. Hives sent back to us without first requesting a replacement will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the hive is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.


Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot always be returned, like perishable goods (such as bumblebee hives and pollen). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
